Excuse me Sir, do you have the time?

On Friday, we investigated our math homework from the night before. Students tallied their answers on white boards to figure out how many clocks and watches were in their homes, just at their team alone. We then put all the numbers together for a GRAND TOTAL!

Drum roll please..............

We discovered that we have 73 watches in our homes all together!

And it gets better! We have 161 clocks in our houses!!

Wow! Thank you families for helping your children scavenge for the time! ;)

We found the end (of the RAINBOW)!

Quit Monkeying Around!! (Brown Day)

oPPosite Day!! (Black & White)

Today we did a lot with opposites, which will hopefully help the kids out next year as 2nd graders when they learn about antonyms! I know I did not get many pictures as the week went on of activities we did, but they did get sent home! We have been super busy in Room 108! By the way, all 18 of my students LOVE Splat the Cat books by Rob Scotton! =)

None of our normal pictures turned out too good today! Yikes! Of course, the goofy face ones are the easiest and the most fun for the kiddos!

Lookin' Purpulicious!

Poem of the day! That bruised thumb sure was hard to draw! But I just did my best and kept on going! ;)

We read Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes. Students had to remember the characters, setting, and the problem/resolution.

Treats today: grape Capri Suns and cupcakes with verrry purple frosting. Check out the damage!

It was literally all over the face. Forehead, ears, and all! Hehe! :o)

"Yum, that was good!"

"Hey, I have purple on my shirt!".. I wonder where it came from?

"My lips match my shirt Ms. Searles!"

Red for Constitution Day!

Nation-wide on Friday September 16, school's celebrated Constitution Day. School-wide, the color theme was red, white, and blue. I strategically planned for our color day to be red that day =). Originally I had it down as orange, and realized before it was too late that I needed to do a switcheroo! We looked extremely sharp, if I do say so myself! Check us out!

Treats consisted of RED apples, RED jellybeans, and Fruit Punch! =) THANK YOU!!

We also read The Little Red Hen, and The Little Red Hen (Makes a Pizza). We did a compare/contrast with the two books, and even did a text-to-text connection with The Little Green Witch!

Go GREEN!

Treats today were GREEN apples, mint Musketeers, GREEN fruit roll-ups, and GREEN jell-o cups! WOW!

Yellow!

How perfect, our temperatures were in the YELLOW on yellow day! The kids thought it was pretty cool! The same thing was noticed on orange day! By the way, we observed the temperature go from 95 degrees on Monday, all the way down to 65 degrees by Thursday. Bye bye flip flops and shorts! "Ms. Searles!!! Check out my new jacket!" -quote of the day! Enjoy our yellow day pictures!

Yellow snacks today consisted of banana's, peanut M&M's, and star bursts!  Thank you parents!
